Review: Deceive Inc. – Definitely Worth Trying it

If you thought Among Us is the greatest game of deception, then you are very much wrong. Deceive Inc. is a complete game changer. The game has been released by Sweet Bandits Studios.

As expected, this is a multiplayer game that gives you more options than you can ever imagine. This game combines the concepts of Among Us with guns and better graphics.

For PlayStation players, it is available for PlayStation 5. And Xbox players can play Deceive Inc. on Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S. It would be safe to say that this game is new-gen console inclusive. But Deceive Inc. can also be played on PC, and you can buy it from or . Storyline

This does not have a story as such, as it is a multiplayer game that has different elements of different games. It has a few elements from Overwatch 2, while the other elements are picked from . Apex Legends

You can play this game in an old-fashioned way which is the Battle Royale way, where you have multiple people in your squad, and the people in your team do not have the same set of skills. You can also play Deceive Inc. all by yourself or in a team of three.

Every player starts the game looking like an NPC but remember that there are more NPCs than players in the game. This is an advantage and a disadvantage. Coming to the advantage first, since there are many NPCs, blending gets really easy.

Now, the most significant disadvantage would be that all the NPCs act in the same behavior, and any kind of suspicious activity would raise the alarm to other players.

Developers of Deceive Inc have made sure that even the game has a very retro vibe and gives the nostalgia of the 70s, but they make sure that you do not have to go through the pain of doing everything the 70s way because they equip you with the best of the best and latest spy technology.

Just like every other game, we can see that there are different types of characters, and these characters are categorized into four different groups. First, one is Trickster, next up is Tracker, the third one is the Disruptors, and last, but not least, there are Vanguards. 

Different groups have different capabilities, and one should be a strategist to pick the right character from one of the four categories or what suits them well and helps them better in the game. 

Gameplay

Even though this type of game is a new concept, the gameplay somewhat still feels very familiar because of its reference to some other games mentioned above. The game gives you a fair amount of options to choose from, some of the options being playing solo or with teams, choosing from one of the four categories, and even from these categories, you get to choose your own character.

The characters that you can choose from are Rupert Reid aka “Squire”, Tamar Zaken aka “Ace”, Ethan Chavez aka “Chavez”, Madame Xiu, Hans Moritz aka “Hans”, Florence Jacques aka “Cavalière”, Francois Claudet aka “Larcin”, Yu-Mi Kwon aka “YU-MI”.

The main goal of the game is that you have to retrieve a golden color briefcase. If playing in a team, then both the teams are searching for one golden color briefcase, and if playing solo, then there are going to be twelve players, in particular, searching for the briefcase.

There are different stages to playing this game. If you can execute every stage correctly, then you will be a winner in Deceive Inc. So, the stages in this game are:

1. Insertion: The major thing to do in this is to gather intel points from terminals; these intel points can be spent on hidden doors, finding items, and even hacking the terminals that will open secret vaults. If you are being too suspicious, then other players are going to find out, and you might get in combat right then and there.

2. Infiltration: In this, the vault doors open, and these doors will lead you to the Golden Briefcase. But since everyone can see that the door has been opened and everyone will be going there, some might feel like the map is being shortened, like in Battle Royale, but that is not the case as the map is still accessible. If you are not in the right place, then you might miss out on the Golden Briefcase.

3. Escape: Once you find the Golden Briefcase, you have to reach the extraction point, but as expected, it is not going to be that easy. Your location is going to be pinged continuously at all times after getting the Golden Briefcase. All the enemies can see the location and may come to steal the briefcase from you. 

This is the most important part of the game as this will be setting the concrete base of the game. One way to deal with it is that you can increase the level of your security and go to the briefcase first. The second way to deal with it is that locate and kill the other spies, which are, of course, not NPCs. Last but not least, you can upgrade and then wait to steal the briefcase from some other player.

Honest Opinions

This game has a very different approach and is something that has not been seen before. This game has a very storyline too. Deceive Inc. gives a very retro vibe but then somehow still manages to keep futuristic elements.

The game gives the players the independence to choose their style of playing. Deceice Inc. lets you choose your very own characters who have different kinds of specialties, and you get to choose your very own gadgets like bulletproof umbrellas, mic, etc. Since there are 12 spies in the game, you can get very innovative with your style of playing. halo

The game, as of now, does feel a bit too chaotic, but not too chaotic for not being able to recommend it. This has very few negatives, and they can be easily overlooked as the game had spent a very long time in the Alpha and the Beta stage. 

Our Verdict

Deceive Inc. has a lot of time to grow as the game has just come out, and it is already an amazing game. Even though this is a paid game and you can buy Deceive Inc. for $19.99 on Steam as of right now. Hopefully, the game will keep the same about the spy against the spy because, as of now, it is the most important selling point of the game. 

The developers of Deceive Inc., which is Sweet Bandits Studios, should invest a little more in the marketing of this game as many people are still unaware of this game. Due to unawareness of this game, you might not find many players playing the game. The game will be better if the game gets cheaper and there are more people in the game lobby.
